Genesis

Association Miséricorde Inconditionnelle, AMIwas born of an unshakeable determination to fight poverty and social indigence in Burkina Faso. Its creation is the culmination of a path strewn with obstacles, but driven by a profound determination: that of saving populations in distress, through solidarity and by compassion

In a critical context where vital needs are becoming a privilege as the most basic daily sustenance becomes increasingly inaccessible for survival, the Association Miséricorde Inconditionnelle strives to bring support, dignity and hope to people in great precariousness, forgotten by crises.

Context

Burkina Faso, a landlocked country in West Africa, faces colossal socio-economic challenges. Nearly 40 % of the population lives below the poverty line, a particularly glaring reality in rural areas, where access to education, health care or drinking water remains very limited.

This structural poverty is compounded by growing insecurity due to armed conflict. Thousands of families have been forced to flee their homes and take refuge in makeshift camps. More than 1.5 million internally displaced people are now facing extreme hardship.

Living conditions in these areas are alarming: inadequate infrastructure, shortage of vital resources, insalubrity, isolation... Women and children, in particular, pay a heavy price, with violence, disease and exclusion from school. Despite the efforts of the State and the international community, the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate.

Faced with this silent emergency, the Association Miséricorde Inconditionnelle wants to provide real, human and lasting support.

Our missions

Association Miséricorde's missions are defined on the basis of real needs, taking into account emergencies, available resources and desired impact.

They revolve around three key areas:

  • Social emergencies

We intervene in complex emergency situations, to provide a quality, appropriate, effective and efficient response that has the impact expected by our beneficiaries: food distribution, medical aid, clothing, hygiene kits, etc.

  • Personalized support

AMI develops tailor-made initiatives to support individuals and families in critical situations: one-off financial assistance, temporary accommodation, educational or psychological support.

  • Development aid

Mercy does not stop at the act of helping, but also includes support and accompaniment.

Over and above the worrying social emergencies, we believe in everyone's ability to get back on their feet. The association implements projects to strengthen the autonomy of beneficiaries, through training, sponsorship and social and professional integration.
